As we advance in this new year, we reflect with pride on the remarkable achievements of the Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions, as we close its initial three-year cycle. Designed to support high-quality series crafted as international co-productions, this programme has empowered independent producers, fostered creative partnerships across borders and enriched the European audiovisual landscape between 2023 and 2025.
Over the past three years, the Programme has supported a diverse slate of projects from across Europe, championing storytelling that resonates with audiences far and wide. It has enabled 22 series co-productions spanning 14 countries and awarded 7 more projects from additional 7 more countries, which are developing into becoming a co-production, with support totalling around €9 million.
As we close this chapter, we thank with deep appreciation all participating partner institutions and donor states whose generous support made this journey possible. Your commitment to cultural diversity, creative independence and international collaboration has been vital in shaping a vibrant ecosystem where independent voices thrive. A result of a collective institutional choice to invest together in series as cultural works, strengthening trust, cooperation and shared responsibility across borders.
We also extend heartfelt gratitude to the producers, creatives and production teams whose passion and vision brought these projects to life. Your work has not only met the challenge of international co-production with courage and skill but has contributed to what European series can be, to what stories Europeans and beyond discover. From scripted fiction and animation to documentary formats, your series exemplify the power of collaborative storytelling.

Looking forward, the successes of 2023–2025 inspire confidence and excitement for the next season of international co-productions. With plans already in motion to continue expanding support beyond the current phase, we anticipate even broader collaboration, more daring stories and stronger networks that connect producers, broadcasters and audiences across Europe and beyond.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this journey. Here is to a new year filled with creativity, cooperation and compelling voices shaping a future of European storytelling.
New calls for the 2026–2027 season will open soon, marking the next chapter of the Programme.
