CineLink Drama, the key player in the development of drama series in Southeast Europe, hosted the second Council of Europe's 2025 Series Co-Production Development Awards. The awards aim to foster creative collaborations in series co-production and empower independent producers.

The Award, worth €50,000, went to the following project: 

"Red Water"

An adaptation of the homonymous novel written by Jurica Pavičić

Croatia

Synopsis: In 1989 at the Croatian seaside, a family is shattered when their daughter disappears. Her dark secrets disintegrate the community over two decades until the return of the former investigator unveils the truth. 

The jury was composed of: 

• Denis Leroy, Banijay Entertainment, France
• Johanna Gårdare, SVT, Sweden
• Alex Traila, Council of Europe, France

The jury selected a series project that combines personal trauma, societal change and contemporary European history in a storytelling approach that is both original and universal. This gripping and multi-faceted crime drama series shows how a local mystery rooted in cultural diversity can take on global dimensions and travel internationally.  

A third award will be distributed in 2025 at TV Beats Industry@Tallinn.
