Cinekid for Professionals, the leading industry event for professionals in children’s film and media, hosted the second Council of Europe's 2024 Series Co-Production Development Awards. The awards  aim to foster creative collaborations in series co-production and empower independent producers.

The Award, worth €50,000, went to the following project: 

"PUCK"

Animation Series from Sweden

SCRIPTWRITERS : Caroline Drab, Anna-Karin Garhamn

PRODUCTION COMPANY: BCD Film

Synopsis: Based on the Swedish illustrated children’s books with same name, Puck is a colorful and gentle series for the preschool audience. The series deals with gender topics and modern single-parent life wrapped in relatable stories of a four-year old’s daily life.

The jury was composed of:

• Judit FOZ POVILL, Head of Media Sales, DeAPlaneta, Spain
• Laury VAN LIESHOUT, Editor, KRO-NCRV, The Netherlands

The jury has chosen a project that would appeal its target audience by the simplicity of its attaching stories and would reflect real life and imperfection of characters. The project is also a modern adaptation of traditional storytelling through a human gender-neutral main character.
