Signature of the new Council of Europe Convention on the Co-production of Audiovisual Works in the form of Series
In addition, this year’s Series Mania Forum edition marks a historic occasion with the signature of the new Council of Europe Convention on the Co-production of Audiovisual Works in the Form of Series, which will be chaired by Alain Berset, Secretary General of the Council of Europe. The signature will take place on 26 March at 11:30 at the Auditorium Marie Curie of the Lille Grand Palais.
The Convention on the Co-production of Audiovisual Works in the Form of Series is the first international legal framework specifically dedicated to the independent co-production of series for television and streaming platforms. As such, it marks a significant step for the European and international audiovisual sector, strengthening cultural cooperation, supporting independent producers and enhancing transparency in a fast-moving world.
In Lille, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset will deliver the opening speech at the Lille Dialogues on March 26, an international summit that brings together political decision-makers and audiovisual industry leaders to discuss the sector’s major strategic challenges as part of the Series Mania forum.
