This six-week course on "Male Violence against Women - from Awareness to Operational Response" is offered by the Master's Degree Programme in Administrative and Legal Sciences of Public and Private Organisations, in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Research and Studies on Women and Gender (CIRSDe - Centro Interdisciplinare di Ricerche e Studi delle Donne e di Genere) of the University of Turin. It is part of a framework agreement between the University of Turin, Telefono Rosa Piemonte, and the E.M.M.A. anti-violence Centres to promote joint initiatives addressing male violence against women. The course is also among the activities of Open Council of Europe Academic Networks (OCEAN) members contributing to the understanding and implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention).  

This programme promotes knowledge and dissemination of the principles and objectives of the Istanbul Convention, fostering greater awareness of the causes and different forms of violence against women. Particular attention is devoted to the international framework and the Council of Europe’s standards related to the prevention of violence, as well as the protection and support of people who experience violence. It aims to provide students with the necessary tools to understand violence against women in its various manifestations and dimensions, and to explore practical strategies for preventing and combating it.
