Council of Europe Member States (Final Oral Round at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France)
Event Information

The Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition (HPMCC) is one of Europe’s leading human rights moot court competitions, organised annually by The European Law Students' Association in cooperation with the Council of Europe. Simulating proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights, the competition brings together law students from across Europe to engage with complex and topical human rights issues through written pleadings and oral advocacy. Beyond being an academic competition, the HPMCC offers participants a unique opportunity to experience international litigation in practice, develop advocacy and legal drafting skills, and connect with judges, practitioners, academics, and students passionate about human rights law. The competition culminates in the Final Oral Round in Strasbourg, where finalists plead at the ECtHR itself, making it a truly unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Registration is open until the 31st of October 2027.

The Final Oral Round will take place in Strasbourg from the 31st of May to the 4th of June 2027.
