In the course of the Action, concrete and tangible results are achieved towards enhancement of capacities to apply the European Convention on Human Rights’ standards at the national level. Building upon the success of activities in fighting the ill-treatment and impunity, on 20-22 April 2019 the Action has organised one practical workshop on developing the capacity and skills of national CSO for the prevention of torture and ill-treatment.

During the course, the participants received hands-on training on investigation and processing torture and ill-treatment, including the development of a practical tool – “check list” – for documenting human rights violations in prisons, that was used by the participants during their visit to the Institute for Enforcement of Penal Sanctions. As a result, the participants have developed a report on the respect of human rights in the national Prison’s Pavilion for Women and Pavilion for Minors.

The activity was implemented in the framework of the Action “Fighting ill-treatment and impunity and enhancing the application of the ECtHR case-law on national level (FILL)”, jointly funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.
