The Council of Europe supports the capacities of the Albanian Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination on anti-discrimination strategy planning and formulation

The Albanian Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination (CPD) benefited from the Council of Europe (CoE) expertise on strategic planning and effective implementation of the new strategic plan. A two-day training course targeting  the CPD staff focused on strategic planning processes, relevant monitoring and evaluation, the nature and purpose of strategic plans, the importance of a shared understanding of values, processes and practice indicators for effective organisations.

The training course was part of a tailored programme for advancing skills and capacities of the CPD’s staff in monitoring/reporting and formulating national strategies. This training was preceded by a one-day training course on the drafting and effective implementation of a new anti-discrimination strategy, which is soon to be produced by the Commissioner’s office. Both training courses involved the totality of the Commissioner’s office staff and enabled a better understanding of strategic planning processes, and the same time increased the capacities of staff to better implement the new strategic plan to be finalised within the current year.

The training courses took place under the EU/CoE joint project “Enhancing the effectiveness of the Albanian system of Human Rights Protection and Anti-discrimination”.
