Lawyers of the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who successfully completed Training for Trainers, held training on European anti-discrimination standards for representatives of public institutions in Mrkonjić Grad on 14 December 2018.

The aim of the training was to enable participants to recognize discrimination through presenting an overview of the most common cases of discrimination at the national level, act preventively and to establish a direct contact with the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights when faced with dilemmas on how to proceed in individual cases. Manual on anti-discrimination produced under the Action was handed to the participants as a further tool for an efficient prevention of discrimination and taking adequate corrective actions.

The training was organised within the action “Strengthening the Human Rights Ombudsman to fight discrimination” which is being implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a part of the programme “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey” funded by the European Union and co-funded and implemented by the Council of Europe.
