The Council of Europe Office in Georgia continues its support to the introduction of specialisation of prosecutor’s dealing with crimes committed on intolerance grounds. Prosecutors supervising investigation and prosecution of criminal cases advanced their knowledge on ECHR standards and case-law of ECtHR on crimes committed on intolerance grounds.

The programme included following topics: the psychological aspects of discrimination, impact on victims, discriminatory stereotypes, the best practices of investigation on hate crimes, European standards and respective European Court of Human Rights case law.

The event was organised as part of the Council of Europe co-operation Project “Fighting Discrimination, Hate Crime and Hate Speech in Georgia”. The project is conducted with the support of the Danish neighbourhood program in Georgia (DANEP) under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia.
