The Secretariat of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities has prepared a new factsheet on the challenges faced by women and girls belonging to national minorities.
The publication draws on the findings of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention, which has embedded gender mainstreaming across its work and adopted several recommendations in its opinions to states parties to the Framework Convention, aiming to combat the multiple discrimination faced by women and girls belonging to national minorities.
By presenting key findings, concerns and recommended actions, the factsheet aims to support member states in further strengthening the protection of women and girls belonging to national minorities and their empowerment, in line with the third Council of Europe Gender Equality Strategy (2024-2029).
