Back Whole community approach on violence prevention

This Pestalozzi training unit consists of four workshops, including an assessment session for initial and in-service training for groups of 20-30 participants.

The first workshop familiarises the participants with the Pestalozzi Programme then moves on to assess violence in a school and identifies the resources in the local community.

Based on the preparatory work done in the first workshop, the second workshop covers the assessment of violence and defines attitudes towards it in the school. One of the activities is devoted to estimating how I (or a group I represent) can contribute to violence prevention.

The third workshop is devoted to the finalisation of the list of possible contributions, the identification of obstacles as well as solutions as to how they could be overcome. The main task during this workshop is the development of the Action Plan.

The fourth workshop is devoted to the analysis of implemented activities, as defined in the Action Plan, and suggestions for the Action Plan for the next school year.
