Back Artistic Expression as a means of intercultural understanding

This training unit invites teachers who practice dance, song and games in the teaching of the youngest to enrich their professional practice and to exchange their experiences in the field of regional and European education, in particular through an intercultural approach.

The training unit is designed to take into account the richness of the cultural aspects of our societies. Here, we work on artistic expression as a means of strengthening everyone's sense of belonging in an open society. We look at dance, music, the influence of cultures on each other, the "traces" of "others"; we show how it is possible to express oneself through gestures and music refers to what is understandable by and common to all, regardless of one's history. This activity facilitates communication and teaches us to respect the cultural diversity that is within us all. This can be seen as its universal value.

This resource was developed as part of the Pestalozzi Programme and is aimed at young learners (early childhood and primary school).
