Back Gender equality in the human rights framework

This resource addresses gender stereotypes in everyday life and identifies the role of the rights of women within the human rights system. It questions widespread gender-based stereotypical thinking and promotes gender equality among men and women while accounting for their peculiarities and uniqueness. To achieve this goal, this unit analyses possible situations where gender roles can be analysed and adapted under the influence of stereotypes.

This resource can be used for in-service training with active teachers and educators from all subjects since gender discrimination can be seen in all school areas. The unit uses individual and cooperative work periods, debates and discussions as well as presentations and tasks for reflection on one’s own and others’ perspectives.
