The Council of Europe took part in the Landscape in Transition conference, organised by IFLA Europe in Riga, Latvia, from 2 to 4 September 2026.
The event brought together more than 35 national landscape architecture delegations, with around 300 participants.
The Secretary of the Council of Europe Landscape Convention delivered the opening keynote of the conference on 3 September, and later addressed the IFLA Europe General Assembly, held from 5 to 6 September.
These exchanges helped strengthen the dialogue between the Council of Europe Landscape Convention and the landscape professional community gathered in Riga, ahead of the 13th Conference of the Parties, scheduled for 1 - 2 December 2026 in Strasbourg.
