On 26 February 2025, the Committee of Ministers:
- adopted Recommendation CM/Rec(2025)1 on Landscape and Health, which underscores the critical role of landscape quality in public health;
- approved the proposals of the International Jury and CDCPP on the 8th Session of the Council of Europe Landscape Award (Strasbourg, 14-15 May 2024).
The Landscape Award was conferred to the project "Villages of Serra da Lousã – Where Villages Sound Unique" in Portugal - a Special Mention was awarded to the project "Orland - FindingHome – The Rusaset Project and the Austrått Landscape" in Norway - an exemplary achievement was recognised to the Project "Protection and Development of the Slovenian Landscape: Starting Points for the Development of Landscape Policy" in Slovenia.
These decisions reflect the Council of Europe's ongoing dedication to promoting the value of landscapes in fostering sustainable development and public health across its member States.
