Continuing online live talks on Human Rights

The Council of Europe Office in Georgia together with the Public Defender’s Office continue their series of live discussions “Human Rights Talks: Equality Matters”, where challenges and risks posed to human rights protection by the coronavirus outbreak are discussed.

The second Human Rights Talks were live on 15 April and concerned hate speech in media. The media expert, Nino Danelia, talked about the consequences of hate speech promotion and coverage in media.

The third online talks, on 22 April, discussed civic activism and included activists and initiators implementing helping hand projects during the pandemic period.

The live online session gave the possibility to viewers to send written questions and engage in the debates.

Links to the talks in Georgian about hate speech in the media and the importance of civic activism in the fight against coronavirus are available online.
