As part of its mission to strengthen the efficiency and quality of justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the CEPEJ launched on 12 March 2025 the HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals) online course on ’Quality of justice – the work of the CEPEJ', in the presence of more than 50 participants, presidents, secretaries and other court staff from all over the country. This initiative aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of legal professionals in CEPEJ tools and methodologies for judicial efficiency and quality of justice, with adaptation to the BiH legal framework. Ms Svjetlana Milišić Veličkovski, tutor of this course, judge at the Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH and member of the CEPEJ for BiH, intervened during this event.

On 11 March, a meeting of the steering committee of the CEPEJ/EU joint cooperation programme brought together representatives of the Delegation of the European Union, the Council of Europe, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC), the pilot courts of the BIHSEJ and the judicial training centres. The main activities implemented and the results obtained so far were discussed with the beneficiaries, in particular the implementation of the recommendations made on the efficiency and management of judicial time, the presentation of judicial statistics, judicial communication (including court communication strategies), user satisfaction surveys and the accessibility of courts. The future activities of the project were also discussed.

This activity is organised by the BiHSEJ action “Strengthening the Efficiency and Quality of Justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiHSEJ)” in the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe joint programme Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye (Horizontal Facility III), co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
