On 20 November twenty-five Vologda magistrates have solemnly received HELP certificates for the successful completion of the HELP course on the Introduction to the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights.

Vasilisa Neshataeva, a HELP focal point for Russia and an associated professor of Russian State University of Justice has moderated the group for four weeks. This HELP course was included in a six-month magistrates training programme implemented for the first time at the Vologda regional court.

The ceremony was held within the framework of a conference on Judicial Activity in the Digital Era where more than 150 judges have taken part. Alexandra Suchkova, lawyer of the European Court of Human Rights, and Natalia Berebenya, Programme Coordinator in the Russian Federation, Policy and Co-operation Department, were among speakers at the conference.
