Family Law HELP Course Launched in Russia

The Project HELP in Russia in close cooperation with the Federal Chamber of Advocates of the Russian Federation, launched a three-month training course “Family Law and Human Rights. Current Problematic Aspects. International Standards in the Protection of a Child and an Adult.” This is the first training activity which is organised and carried out at the federal level with the participation of 324 advocates from 54 regions of the Russian Federation.

This Course, developed on the basis of the HELP Model Course on Family Law and Human Rights, aims to provide Russian advocates working with such issues as the custody of a child and the child abduction with the up-to-date knowledge and legal instruments to be used in order to protect rights and lawful interests of all parties of a conflict concerned – parents, children, family members and the society in general. The need in a balanced and delicate approach for solving this kind of disputes was underlined by Mr Yuriy Pilipenko, the President of the Federal Chamber of Advocates of the Russian Federation who opened the kick-off meeting. He also added that the Course will unite the participants and this will make their efforts in this area of law more effective.
