The all-Russian competition “Women in the Modern World” was launched in the framework of the project “Co-operation on the implementation of the Russian Federation National Action Strategy for Women (2017-2022)” .
A total of 184 applications were received, 30 short-listed and 3 winners were selected per each of two categories: “Best Article on Participation of Women in Public and Political Life” and “Best Visual Campaign: Social Advertising on Violence against Women (video/social poster)". Applications were received from many regions of the Russian Federation: Moscow, St.Petersbourg, Kaliningrad, Makhachkala, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Yakutia, etc.
In the participation of women in public and political life nomination, the 1st place has been granted to the special project "Women's Business" of the newspaper “Pskov Pravda”, the 2nd place to the journalist Alexandra Melnik for her in-depth interview “I have to prove step by step” with Oksana Pushkina, member of the State Duma in newspaper “Economics Today" and the 3d place has been awarded to the local publication “Kazanskije Vedomosti” for its consistent support to the topic of participation of women in public and political life in Tatarstan.
The best work in the best visual campaign on violence against women has been awarded to the video “In the apartment” by Anastasia Kalachikova, Ksenia Burakova and Elena Volgina, the 2nd place to the video “Protect Your Loved Ones!” of Tatyana Nikolyuk, and the 3d place to the video project "You are not alone. Pauline” of Ksenia Baskakova.
A special mention has been awarded to the theatre performance “We are Against Violence” of the youth creative project “Golden Sechenije” in Tomsk.
The winning works will be published in the May 2020 hard copy edition of the magazine “Journalist”- project partner in the competition.
