Risk Assessment Standards and Methodologies to ensure the safety of victims of violence against women and domestic violence in Ukraine: a new publication is available

A new analytical report, “Risk assessment standards and methodologies for diverse stakeholders in Ukraine: Next steps in implementing international standards to ensure the safety of victims of violence against women and domestic violence” has been published in Ukraine.

The aim of the Risk Assessment report is to provide practical and policy suggestions tailored to the current situation in Ukraine. Through this report, the Council of Europe aims to support the development and strengthening of the use of risk assessments throughout the criminal justice chain, civil and administrative proceedings for social workers, mobile response teams, shelters and education professionals.

The report contains a series of recommendations for advancing the use of domestic violence risk assessments among a large number of stakeholders, including judges, prosecutors, probation officers, mobile teams/social workers, shelters and educators. For practical application of these specific recommendations, the report also contains checklists and provides sample forms to be used as a reference.

This research has been developed under the project The Istanbul Convention: a tool to advance in fighting violence against women and domestic violence in Ukraine with funding through the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2018-2021.
