On 28 June 2021 the project’s “Reinforcing the fight against violence against women and domestic violence in Kosovo*- phase II, final Steering Committee meeting took place. The results and impact of the project were discussed among the key project partners: National Coordinator on Domestic Violence, Academy of Justice of Kosovo*, and Victims Support and Advocacy Office. Keynote remarks were offered by Dr. Nita Shala, Deputy Minister of Justice and National Coordinator on Domestic Violence and by Frank Power, the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Pristina.
Dr. Shala noted the positive progress of the project, its positive impact in the prevention and protection work related to violence against women and domestic violence and indicated her expectations and appreciation for the upcoming phase III of the project.
Enver Fejzullahu, Director of Academy of Justice noted the fruitful partnership with the Council of Europe. Basri Kastrati from Victims Advocacy and Support Office pointed the close collaboration particularly as part of the capacity building component benefiting victim advocates.
The project results were presented by Merita Limani, local Project Manager. They include over 13 publications, over 45 training activities and other events, as well as over 2300 professionals and other stakeholders involved in its two years (June 2019 to June 2021).
