New video: how the Istanbul Convention would improve assistance for victims of violence against women in Ukraine

The Council of Europe project, “Combating violence against women in Ukraine” (COVAW) has produced a new video in Ukrainian: “How the system of assistance to victims of domestic violence and violence against women will need to be improved following ratification of the Istanbul Convention”.

The video describes how the system of assistance to victims of violence against women and domestic violence currently functions, and how it will be positively changed following Ukraine's ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention).

The video helps to learn more about the Istanbul Convention and complements an earlier video, “Myths and Facts about the Istanbul Convention”. These tools have are useful for professionals working in the area of combatting violence against women and domestic violence, as well as the general public and civil society leaders focused on protecting the human rights of women, including civil society organisations, civic activists, experts, and the media.
