The publication “Gender mainstreaming in action: A handbook for local gender related coordinators in Ukraine” targeting the unique challenges faced by civil servants at local and regional level in Ukraine is now available. This publication offers specific guidance and resources for local gender-related coordinators and seeks to empower coordinators in their daily work through practical tests, definitions, case studies, and examples of good practice.
This handbook is aligned with the Council of Europe’s objective of making gender equality a reality, while addressing Ukraine’s specific cultural, social, and institutional context. It bridges the gap between the Council of Europe’s broader gender equality efforts and local-level implementation in Ukraine, offering an accessible and actionable resource for those working to advance gender equality in practice and contributing to the realisation of gender equality in Ukraine.
This publication was developed and translated into Ukrainian through the project “Combating Violence against Women in Ukraine – Phase III” (COVAW III) which is part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction” 2023-2026.
