Under the European Union and Council of Europe’s joint action “Raising awareness of the Istanbul Convention and other gender equality standards in Azerbaijan”, the latest versions of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) factsheets on violence against women, domestic violence, and gender equality have been translated in Azerbaijani.
These factsheets will be distributed to the Academy of Justice of Azerbaijan, partner of the project, and the Bar Association of Azerbaijan, so that they can be used in the daily practice of legal professionals.

Case law on Violence Against Women
This translation was done under the joint action "Raising awareness of the Istanbul Convention and other gender equality standards in Azerbaijan" currently implemented within the Programme for Good Governance II (PGGII), a European Union and Council of Europe joint programme in the Eastern Partnership countries. Among other objectives, the joint action seeks to support the Azerbaijani authorities to sign the Istanbul Convention.
