From 18 to 21 October, the Execution Department carried out a visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, to discuss the implementation of ECHR judgments and to strengthen the co-operation between the authorities and the Department.
Working meetings were held with the Presidential Administration, the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Bar Association on cases pending execution under both enhanced and standard supervision; and discussions focused on the general and individual measures required for the implementation of several groups of cases.
On 21 October, the Department also took part in the official launch of the Council of Europe project on "Support for the improvement of the execution of the European Court judgments by Azerbaijan".
