Implementing the European Court's judgments

The latest case-by-case decisions adopted on the implementation of judgments from the European Court of Human Rights have been published by the Committee of Ministers.

The Committee adopted 24 decisions concerning 15 member States at the end of its regular HR meeting in Strasbourg, as well as one interim resolution related to the excessive length of judicial proceedings in Hungary.

Final resolutions were adopted by the Committee in respect of 370 judgments and decisions from the European Court, concerning 16 different States.

The Committee also adopted an indicative list of cases to be examined at its next meeting on the execution of judgments, which will take place in June 2018.

Council of Europe member States are obliged to implement judgments from the European Court of Human Rights under Article 46 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

The Committee supervises the execution of judgments on the basis of information provided by the national authorities concerned, NGOs and other interested parties.
