The aim of the Observatory on History Teaching in Europe (hereinafter “the Observatory”), established in 2020, promotes practices encouraging history teaching and learning in order to strengthen and promote the values of the Council of Europe enshrined in its Statute (ETS No. 1).

The Observatory’s constituent bodies shall be:

  • Governing Board,
  • Scientific Advisory Council.

 Member States

Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Cyprus, France, Georgia, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Republic of North Macedonia, Portugal, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey.

Non-Members of Councy of Europe:
Belarus, Holy See, Kazakhstan.
