On 30 October, the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme was presented at the 37th Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe by Mr. Levan Kharatishvili (Georgia), Vice-Chair of the Governing Board of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA) in the premises of the Council of Europe (Palais de l’Europe, Strasbourg).

The presentation underlined recent achievements of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA) and the growing relevance of the Cultural Routes programme, as well as the structural importance of Programme networks and activities in regional sustainable development in the field of culture and tourism.

The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities is the institution of the Council of Europe responsible for strengthening local and regional democracy in its 47 member States and assessing the application of the European Charter of Local Self-Government. The Congress has 324 members representing 150,000 local and regional authorities in the Council of Europe’s 47 member States.
