The European Institute of Cultural Routes (EICR), in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair in ICT to develop and promote sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites of USI – Università della Svizzera italiana, is pleased to announce that registrations are now open for the 2nd Conference of the University Network for Cultural Routes Studies, "Advancing and sharing knowledge for a better Programme of Cultural Routes”. The conference will take place on 12–13 November 2026 in Lugano, Switzerland, at the Università della Svizzera italiana. 

Building on the success of the first International Conference on Universities and Cultural Routes, held in Santiago de Compostela in November 2024, this second edition will bring together academics and practitioners to discuss research on cultural routes, strengthen the University Network for Cultural Routes Studies, and shape future research agendas in support of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme. The event will foster interdisciplinary exchange across fields such as ICTs and digitalisation, governance, rural development, education, tourism, and heritage, while disseminating scientific knowledge on the role of cultural routes in promoting a shared European identity.
