The Council of Europe through its joint European Union and Council of Europe Project against Economic Crime (PECK III) is strengthening the capacities of the Kosovo Agency for Prevention of Corruption (APC) in the process of conducting assessment of corruption risks.

For this purpose, the project organised a working group meeting on 18 and 19 September 2023 in Pristina, with the aim of discussing the recommendations on the proposed sublegal act on conducting a Corruption Risk Assessment (CRA) which provides a framework for the APC to conduct and coordinate the assessment of corruption risks. 

The event also served as a platform to discuss the main elements and steps to be taken for conducting corruption risk assessment in either public or private organisations or sectors as envisaged by various international standards and tools. Additionally, the APC staff raised their knowledge and awareness on various models and processes, indicators or criteria that could help the APC to identify specific sectors/fields where a CRA should be conducted as well as good practices for conducting a CRA.

Regulation of the corruption risk assessment ad management process is expected to enable the APC to strengthen its capacities in managing and coordinating the corruption risk assessment initiatives by inter alia better allocating the anti-corruption mitigation resources as well as performing further in-depth corruption risk assessment with a focus on identified priority and vulnerable areas.

The activity was organised within the framework of the “Project against Economic Crime in Kosovo” (PECK III), jointly funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the latter.
