The Council of Europe in cooperation with the Kosovo Agency for Prevention of Corruption (APC) organised three consecutive workshops on managing conflict of interest cases, which took place from 20 to 22 September 2023 within the framework of the joint European Union and Council of Europe “Project against Economic Crime” (PECK III).

The aim of the workshops was to enhance practical knowledge of responsible officials on the domestic legal framework and procedures on processing conflict of interest cases within public institutions as well as to increase their knowledge on international standards and good practices when managing with conflict of interest cases.

The events were attended by more than 100 officials representing various bodies of public administration, independent agencies and public enterprises at local and central level. In addition, representatives of anti-corruption bodies from Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia participated and shared their knowledge and practical experiences.

Participants also benefited from discussions with the Council of Europe expert on the challenges in the implementation of the conflict of interest framework such as challenges with identification of conflict of interest cases in particular with parliament members, mechanism for collecting information, communication with the APC, the issue of revolving doors and incompatibility in performing activities. 

The workshops are organised following the previous support provided by the Project in the process of developing legal framework on conflict of interest in public administration of Kosovo. 

The activity was organised within the framework of the “Project against Economic Crime in Kosovo” (PECK III), jointly funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the latter.
