On 25 March 2022 in the framework of Central Asia Rule of Law Programme the Council of Europe Economic Crime and Cooperation Division (ECCD) held a coordination meeting with the representatives of the Anti-Corruption Agency and representatives of the Academy of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan to discuss the content of an E-learning course for public officials in the field of anti-corruption compliance in the public and private sectors.

The meeting was organised with the aim to present the content of the e-learning course developed by the Council of Europe and coordinate final adjustments and improvements to streamline the content to the existing institutional needs in Uzbekistan. The course takes a practical approach to anti-corruption compliance tools and mechanisms, relevant both for the public and private sectors, concentrating on what is covered by international standards and current good practices.

The Council of Europe will continue to provide further assistance to the authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan in consolidating internal capacities and skills in the field of anti-corruption compliance in the private and public sectors through additional capacity building activities and guidance. This activity is organised in partnership with the General Prosecutor’s Office and Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This activity was organised in the framework of the project “Promoting Transparency and Action against Economic Crime” within the Central Asia Rule of Law Programme 2020-2023, which is a joint initiative co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the latter. The project is aimed at strengthening capacities to fight and prevent economic crime in five Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan.
