Workshop on setting up a sampling and verification system for declarations of assets and interests

A workshop on setting up a sampling and verification system for declarations of assets and interests took place on 8 July 2020 for the benefit of the team of the asset declaration unit within the National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC) at its headquarters in Belvedere.

The main objective of the workshop was to present and discuss with the beneficiaries the Technical Paper on the management and verification of declarations of assets and interests in Tunisia. The meeting served to present, discuss and exchange with the beneficiary proposed mechanisms and relevant comparative practice in relation to sampling and verification criteria for the declarations of assets and interests of public officials and other related subjects which remain under the responsibility of the National Anti-corruption Authority to be considered and applied. The constructive discussions were complemented with further information and practical examples related to verification mechanisms and sampling options. The comments and updated information echoed during the meeting will be integrated into the final technical paper on management and verification of declared assets and interests in Tunisia.

This activity was organised by the Anti-corruption project in Tunisia (TAC) in cooperation with the INLUCC within the framework of the European Union / Council of Europe joint program "Project to support independent bodies in Tunisia" (PAII-T).
