On 14 December 2020, the working group consisting of representatives of the Financial Intelligence Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the AEC-MKD team and the Council of Europe consultant had an online discussion on the compliance of the Law on International Restrictive Measures and the Guidelines on the implementation of the financial measures set by the Law on International Restrictive Measures in line with applicable international standards, as well as international good practice. The Council of Europe consultant provided recommendations and comments for amending both documents and discussed with beneficiaries outstanding issues. The consultant shall provide a technical paper with all recommendations based on which the beneficiaries will amend the current Law and Guidelines.

The process of amendment of the Macedonian legislation on international restrictive measures is supported by the Action against economic crime in North Macedonia within the Council of Europe/European Union Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey- Phase II.
