The seminar on “Corruption risks, protection mechanisms and good governance for business” took place on 15 July in Kaliningrad. Over 50 participants, including representatives of the federal business ombudsman office, the regional business ombudsmen offices and the business community participated in the event. The seminar was opened by Georgii Dykhanov, Business Ombudsman of the Kaliningrad region, and Petr Sich, Head of the Council of Europe Programme Office in Russia. It provided a venue for the presentation and discussion of two handbooks: on “Corruption risks and protection mechanisms for entrepreneurs” and on “Good governance in business”, prepared by Council of Europe experts. Among other, the participants discussed corruption risks affecting the business sector and the use of internal codes of conduct. They also stressed the need to organise regular trainings on ethical matters, including anticorruption measures and the liability of legal persons.
On the margins of the Seminar, Dina Krylova, National Project Coordinator of the Office of the FBOO, Petr Sich, Head of Council of Europe Programme Office in the Russian Federations and Rafail Gibadulin, RBO in the Republic of Bashkortostan signed the Ufa Recommendation, containing six proposals addressed to public authorities.
