During a meeting of the Steering Committee on 25 April 2019, its members discussed the progress in the implementation and results achieved within PRECOP II project.
The extended Steering Committee meeting was attended by representatives of the project beneficiary institutions: federal, public and regional ombudspersons from the project’s 12 pilot regions, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the Council of Europe, the donor representatives (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) and the European Union Delegation.
The participants positively assessed the impact of the project activities, and exchanged opinions about potential follow-up project. Furthermore the members reviewed and agreed on implementation modalities and the workplan of activities until July 2019 and discussed the potential for follow up to PRECOP II through continued cooperation within a PRECOP III project.
The project activities in the second quarter of 2019 will be focused on strengthening legislative framework regulating inspections in line with applicable international standards and good practices; conducting trainings aimed at enhancing capacities of inspection bodies and authorities dealing with procurement, and also organising a pilot training on mechanism of confidential reporting of corruption by entrepreneurs.
