Meet the Newly Elected Bureau Members of CDADI

During its 8th plenary meeting, held on 5-7 December 2023, the CDADI held elections to appoint its Chair, Vice-Chair, and three Bureau members.

The composition of the Bureau is as follows:

  • Erik ADELL HELLSTRÖM (Sweden) was elected as Chair for the calendar year 2024;
  • Dominique STEIGER-LEUBA (Switzerland) was elected as Vice-Chair for the calendar year 2024;
  • Sean FINCH (United Kingdom) and Viktor KUNDRAK (Czech Republic) were elected as Bureau members for the calendar years 2024 - 2025 and Alen TAHIRI (Croatia) for the calendar year 2024;

Furthermore, the CDADI appointed Käthlin SANDER (Estonia) as Rapporteur on Gender Equality, Axel VAN WEYNENDAELE (Belgium) as Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Nicolae RĂDIŢA (Republic of Moldova) as Rapporteur on the rights of Children and Young People for the calendar years 2024 – 2025.

The CDADI members and the newly elected Chair bid farewell to Sophie ÉLIZÉON (France), the outgoing president of the CDADI as well as to the outgoing Bureau members Cristina MILAGRE (Portugal) and Georgia WOLFF (United Kingdom).

The CDADI will start implementing its new mandate together with the well-established Committee of Experts on Roma and Traveller Issues (ADI-ROM) and Committee of Experts on Intercultural Inclusion (ADI-INT), the newly established Committee of Experts on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression and Sex Characteristics (ADI-SOGIESC), the newly established Committee of Experts on Artificial Intelligence, Equality and Discrimination (GEC/ADI-AI) and three working groups on (1) deliverables regarding national minorities, (2) deliverables regarding hate speech and hate crime, and (3) intersectional discrimination.
