CDADI Vice-President participates in the Second meeting of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe with Presidents of Intergovernmental Committees

On 1 February 2024, Dominique Steiger-Leuba, Vice-President of the Steering Committee for Anti-discrimination, Diversity and Inclusion participated in the Second meeting of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe with Presidents of Intergovernmental Committees in Strasbourg. This high-level event was opened by the Secretary General, Marija Pejčinović Burić, and by the President of the European Court of Human Rights, Síofra O’Leary.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Presidents of different intergovernmental committees to meet and acquire knowledge of the substance and modalities of the work of others, and in particular, for Presidents to exchange on how to follow up to the Reykjavík Declaration, the conclusion of the 4th summit of Heads of State and Government, in the committees’ work. The Presidents discussed a wide breadth of topics including working methods.

The CDADI’s deliverables and its mandate aim to promote and mainstream equality for all and build more inclusive societies that offer effective protection from discrimination and hate, ensure equal participation in political and public life for all without discrimination on any ground, and where diversity is respected.
