Lanzarote Committee launches a new monitoring round on screening persons in contact with children for sexual offences
During its 47th plenary meeting (24-26 March 2026), the Lanzarote Committee (Committee of the Parties to the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse) launched a new monitoring round on the screening of professionals, volunteers and other persons in contact with children.
The State Parties are invited to submit replies to the monitoring questionnaire by 30 June 2026. Civil society organisations and national human rights institutions are also invited to provide information based on the questionnaire until 1 September 2026 by sending it to [email protected]. These stakeholders will further have an opportunity to comment on State Parties’ replies by the same deadline.
An implementation report containing relevant findings and recommendations is expected to be adopted in 2027.
