A Conference on Preventing and combating hate crime will be organised by the Council of Europe’s Steering Committee on Anti-discrimination, Diversity and Inclusion (CDADI) under the Maltese Presidency of the Committee of Ministers.
The Council of Europe’s Deputy Secretary General Bjørn Berge and the Hon. Rebecca Buttigieg MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Equality and Reforms of Malta, will be among high-level speakers at the event. The conference will provide an opportunity to actors working in the field of hate crime to exchange on practices relating to key topics such as victim support, prevention, and enhancing the criminal justice system, to facilitate the implementation of the new Committee of Ministers Recommendation CM/Rec(2024)4 on combating hate crime.
