The Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova marked, through an internal conference dedicated to the institution’s team, the conclusion of the first phase of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova”.
The event brought together all judges and staff members of the Supreme Court, providing a space for reflection and dialogue on the institutional transformations achieved during the two years of project implementation — a period that coincided with a key phase of institutional consolidation following the reform introduced by Law No. 64 of 30 March 2023 on the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova.
Discussions focused on the values embraced by the Court as an institution, the defining results of this stage, as well as the professional challenges generated by the extensive transformation process. Participants also reflected on priorities for the next phase, in a context marked by structural changes and growing expectations regarding the role of the Supreme Court.
On the same day, the Project team and the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice took part in the final Steering Committee meeting organised within the framework of the Council of Europe project. The meeting was dedicated to assessing the progress achieved and identifying directions for further strengthening the institutional capacities of the Court.
Among the tangible results of the support provided are the Concept of the Institutional Development Strategy, the draft Internal Regulation, and the draft Communication Strategy of the Court — instruments that will contribute to strengthening internal organisation and developing more coherent institutional communication, and which are expected to fully produce their effects once formally adopted following the establishment of the Court’s Plenary.
Looking ahead, the meeting also created space to reflect on possible directions for continued cooperation aimed at supporting institutional consolidation, strategic development and organisational modernisation of the Court, in line with European standards.
