The draft of the national Romanian language curriculum for adult migrants and refugees in the Republic of Moldova consulted with the national partners

The Working Group on the development of the national curriculum for Romanian language courses for adult migrants and refugees in the Republic of Moldova held its second workshop, marking a significant step forward in the curriculum development process.

During the workshop, the draft curriculum for Romanian language courses for adult migrants and refugees was presented to the participants, who had the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the draft. Attendees praised the curriculum for reflecting their previous input and incorporating recommendations made during earlier consultations. This collaborative process reflects the commitment to ensuring that the curriculum is tailored to the national context and addresses the real needs of migrants, refugees, and displaced persons. The proposed curriculum is seen as a vital tool to support their social and professional integration, emphasising its practical relevance and importance in promoting inclusion.

The event also served as a consultative platform, bringing together key national partners with responsibilities in the integration of displaced persons, migrants, and refugees, namely the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including the General Inspectorate for Migration, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, and the National Employment Agency.

The activity aligns with the National Programme on the Staged Integration of Foreigners in the Republic of Moldova for 2025-2027, aiming to support migrants and refugees in developing Romanian language skills, and thereby facilitate their access to basic rights and services, such as education, employment, healthcare in the Republic of Moldova.

The workshop was organised under the project “Strengthening the human rights protection of refugees and migrants in the Republic of Moldova: phase II”, funded and implemented under the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova (2025-2028).
