The Council of Europe started the developement of a new Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2025 - 2028

The Council of Europe initiated discussions on the elaboration of a new Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2025-2028 with an event in Chisinau which included three thematic round tables focusing on three main pillars: human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

The aim of the event, which was attended by national partners and stakeholders, including civil society organizations, was to define priorities, identify beneficiaries, target groups and indicators, as well as to set out key actions and expected results, for each theme to be included in the new Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova for the years 2025 - 2028.

During the three parallel round tables, participants identified priorities for cooperation based on existing institutional, sectoral, and national policy documents, in line with relevant international commitments and the latest recommendations, resolutions, and findings of CoE monitoring bodies.

In his opening remarks, Falk Lange, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, thanked the partners for the fruitful collaboration and successful actions carried out in the process of implementing the projects under the current Action Plan, expressing his confidence that they will have an equally active involvement and intense cooperation from now on in the framework of the new Action Plan.

"The new Action Plan for 2025 - 2028 will be built on the achievements of the current Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2021 - 2024 and will set priorities for the areas of cooperation with national authorities for the next four years. The document will mark an important milestone in the history of the Council of Europe's cooperation with the Republic of Moldova to support the country's efforts to align with European standards and continue reforms", the CoE official said.
