Judges and staff members of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) of the Republic of Moldova took part in an online peer to peer exchange with experts from Norway and Sweden to discuss internal governance models, efficiency mechanisms and main procedural workflows within European supreme courts.
The discussions aimed to support the SCJ in developing its own Internal Regulation, a key institutional document currently under preparation in the context of the Court’s reform introduced in March 2023. Participants explored comparative approaches to court management, distribution of responsibilities, and mechanisms ensuring efficiency in judicial work.
The document will become a new step towards modernising SCJ and strengthening the Court’s capacity to function efficiently, based on a modern organisational model inspired by the best European practices.
The exchange offered valuable insights into how Nordic courts organise their internal structures and will serve as an important reference for the SCJ as it adapts its own governance model.
This activity was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova.”
