The Council of Europe project “Strengthening the human rights protection of refugees and migrants in the Republic of Moldova: phase II” and the Council of Europe SOGIESC Unit is launching the online HELP course on “LGBTI Persons in the Asylum Procedure”.
The course will be implemented by the European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) in co-operation with the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova (NIJ).
The HELP course on "LGBTI Persons in the Asylum Procedure" aims to raise awareness and enhance understanding of key aspects related to the rights of LGBTI persons in the context of asylum, as well as of the applicable European and international standards for identifying and assessing asylum claims based on persecution related to Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC).
Registration period for the e-course: November 5, 2025 – November 12, 2025.
Active period of the e-course: November 19, 2025 – December 21, 2025.
Testing method: mandatory testing.
Certification: Beneficiaries will receive certificates attesting to their participation in this e-course, issued by the HELP Unit and the NIJ (20 hours of training).
In this respect, judges, prosecutors and employees of the General Inspectorate for Migration are invited to register to the course. Participants who will successfully complete the course will be awarded with HELP Certificate.
