The Head of the Council of Europe Office in Chișinău, Ms Natalia Voutova, met with Ms Corina Călugăru, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, for a productive exchange on the priorities and future direction of our co-operation.

The meeting reaffirmed the strong and committed partnership between the Council of Europe and the Republic of Moldova. Key topics discussed included Moldova’s path towards EU accession, the follow-up to the successful Presidency of the Republic of Moldova of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers, the forthcoming Action Plan-level Steering Committee, and our shared priorities for the months ahead.

Both sides underlined the importance of the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2025–2028 as a strategic instrument supporting the country’s democratic transformation, and agreed to continue close communication and co-ordination in the period ahead.

The Council of Europe Office remains a committed partner in supporting the Republic of Moldova on its path towards EU accession.
