The Council of Europe project "Enhancing employment rights in the Republic of Moldova" is supporting the State Labour Inspectorate from the Republic of Moldova in strengthening its capacity to effectively fulfil its mandate and ensure that labour inspection practices are efficient, fair, and aligned with the European standards.
In line with this objective, a comprehensive Code of Conduct was developed with the aim of supporting the achievement of a high standard of professional and ethical conduct by all employees of the State Labour Inspectorate. The Code outlines the fundamental ethical principles, mandatory professional conduct rules, and disciplinary measures applicable to all Inspectorate employees.
To ensure its practicality and relevance, the content, principles, and values outlined by the Code were reviewed and discussed by the labour inspectors during several expert meetings. The final version of the Code was officially approved by the State Labour Inspectorate and published on the institution webpage.
The Code of Conduct will serve as a foundation for establishing credible, ethical, and consistently professional behaviour among labour inspectors, thereby enhancing public trust in the institution.
The Code of Conduct is available in Romanian and English versions on the page of the project as well.
The Code of Conduct is developed within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2021-2024, and the project "Enhancing Employment Rights in the Republic of Moldova" which is co-funded by the Austrian Development Agency and the Council of Europe.
