How is the European Court of Human Rights linking its case law with the Istanbul Convention? New video in Azerbaijani

Through its case law, the European Court of Human Rights (the Court) has developed women’s rights and protected women against discrimination in different contexts.

This documentary shows how the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, known as the Istanbul Convention, has been used by the Court to develop its case law in the field of combating violence against women and domestic violence, and showcases how the Court and the Istanbul Convention interrelate.

This documentary has now been translated into Azerbaijani. You can watch it here:

The translation of this documentary was produced under the joint action ‘Raising awareness of the Istanbul Convention and other gender equality standards in Azerbaijan’ currently implemented within the second phase of the Partnership for Good Governance (PGGII), a European Union and Council of Europe joint programme in the Eastern Partnership countries.

Further information on PGGII is available on the PGGII’s website.
